人到中年、有著一段失敗婚姻的某出版社高級主管中村琉依（鈴木京香 飾），與年輕有為、熱忱干練的金融界新秀鈴木行（長谷川博己 飾），兩個原本沒有任何交集的人因一次酒會而相識，更因一本具有遠見卓識的金融策劃書而成為一段戀人。鈴木一躍成為炙手可熱的金融王子，中村也憑借出版鈴木的新書而大賺特賺。可是他們進行的卻是一段不倫之戀，鈴木已和名門千金萬理江（深田恭子 飾）結為夫婦，這對相差17歲的戀人不惜賭上各自的人生和事業。 在走到一起后的不久，鈴木從中村的生活中消失。5年后，中村在馬來西亞的街頭意外重逢中村，而對方不久便遭遇了致命的槍擊……
