故事設(shè)定于1955年，敘述攝影師丹尼斯·史托克和好萊塢男星詹姆斯·迪恩在一場派對上首次碰面；狄恩想透過雜志的照片來為自己添增名氣，因此瞞著老板與丹尼斯一同到對方的家鄉(xiāng)印第安納州，途中丹尼斯除了拍下他多張美照外，還為兩人產(chǎn)生了堅韌的友情。

　　富豪洪飛虎（古天樂 飾）因怪病找到峨嵋派掌門王鳳（鄭秀文 飾），她對飛虎的生性傲慢毫無好感，于是用盡各種奇怪的方法治療飛虎。王鳳的師姐李莫愁（李冰冰 飾）突然出現(xiàn)，并揚(yáng)言要鏟除峨嵋派。未免傷及無辜，王鳳盡快醫(yī)好了飛虎。知道了王鳳的惡作劇之后，飛虎憤然離開了。　　為了與師姐決戰(zhàn)，王鳳急需練好“傷心斷腸劍”，但從未經(jīng)歷傷心之苦的她 無法領(lǐng)悟“百年好合”這一招式的要領(lǐng)，王鳳在眾人的勸說下決定求助與飛虎。飛虎不計前嫌，用盡辦法讓王鳳傷心，練好招式。王鳳又能否成功？

Ay?e, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
