　　1982年，英國傳奇重金屬樂隊Spinal Tap搖滾樂團紅極一時。電影導(dǎo)演馬蒂（羅伯·萊納 Rob Reiner 飾）是Spinal Tap樂團的一位忠實粉絲。Spinal Tap樂團要來美國舉行一次復(fù)出巡演，馬蒂則為Spinal Tap樂團拍攝隨行紀錄片。本部仿紀錄片刻意杜撰出一個英國搖滾樂團Spinal Tap，活靈活現(xiàn)的刻畫出了搖滾樂團臺上臺下表里不一的嘴臉，對當代搖滾樂做出了尖銳的諷刺和嘲諷。　　本片由羅伯·萊納自編自導(dǎo)自演之作。影片中的電影音樂均由演員們親自演奏創(chuàng)作而成。

　　本片將聚焦如今頗受關(guān)注的“元宇宙世界”。VR研究小組成員一個個因為不明的原因死亡，孤島上“紅色女”的咒怨被解禁，慘劇拉開序幕。
