鄭伊健,陳小春,方中信,余安安,葉璇,陳子聰,劉浩龍和義盛坐館火水（方中信 飾）在篩選馬仔后備軍時，被一個開餐館的廚師火腩（陳小春 飾）所吸引，后者做的叫花雞味道鮮美，令他難忘。從此，他對火腩特別照顧，委以重任。找到了保護傘的火腩可以繼承祖業，跟妻子（葉璇 飾）夫唱婦隨經營義盛小館，并盤算讓兒女進入名校就讀。正在此時，金融危機來臨，方中信遇到困難，堂主之位不保，此時他希望能夠讓火腩做接班人，穩定軍心。然而，和義盛開山祖師后人十三妹（余安安 飾）卻力薦剛出獄的兒子燕子文（鄭伊健 飾）出任堂主之位。于是，兩個本不想做堂主的后起之秀被架上了PK臺。火腩只想安心經營自己的飯店，而燕子文則希望進入大學進修，無心戀戰的兩人將面臨一場怎樣的對決呢？
